It's been a long time since NTR has delivered such an intense performance and that's easily the primary reason why you have to watch the film. It's an emotional roller-coaster ride and NTR shines and have a look on it.

Story:
Temper is the story of an orphan boy Daya [NTR], who becomes Police Officer after he noticed cops getting utmost respect and also make illegal money. Waltair Vasu [Prakash Raj] is a corrupted man, who is in search of a convenient police and gets Daya transfered to Vizag. Twist in the tale arises when Daya’s girlfriend(Kajal) gets accidentally kidnapped by Walter Vasu. 
This incident makes Daya very angry and he goes against Vasu and his empire.During this time, Daya also comes to know that there is a bigger motive behind this kidnapping. What is that motive ? Will Daya manage to find out the truth and punish the culprits ? That forms the rest of the story.

Performances:
NTR has done a lifetime role, be it be his dashing looks with six-pac or the character with negative shade. Expressions and dance are like cake walk for him. The dialogue delivery with slight modulation and little variation in different phases made him the perfect choice for Daya's role.

Kajal Agarwal has nothing much to perform yet leaves her mark in limited role.

Prakash Raj as Waltair Vasu is perfect in the negative role. And being a film in Puri combination, one is sure to remember Prakash Raj's Dattu character from Sivamani, but his appearance and dialogue delivery makes the difference.

Posani Krishna Murali steals the show with a single expression and it is worth mentioning that he did not use his inevitable word 'Raja' in Temper. Among others, Madhurima is quite good in her role and brings necessary impact and others have done their parts well.

Analysis:

Temper has enough action, sentiment, emotions and of course romance. And in quintessential Puri style, it is a cop story. The overall story and format remain the same like other films of this genre, but where Temper differs is the way in which Puri has treated it.

An out and out emotional story which also has a strong social message, the film keeps you involved through out and you keenly follow the path of inspector Daya. Goes without saying, that’s exactly where Puri scores. NTR and Kajal too put in spirited performances and that makes for easy viewing.

Of course, Puri has also tucked in some scenes to provide some comic relief, but they could have been handled much better considering that he is now a senior director in the industry. Incidentally, he also puts in a cameo in the film.

While the first half mostly shows how a corrupt Daya is forced to stop and change, it is the second half that really gets the story going. Probably, it is this half that NTR fans will love the most as it has good doses of emotions which are his strong point.

However, by the time the film reaches climax, Puri plans a sudden twist which is bound to leave NTR’s fans totally surprised. And like all films, Temper too has a couple of loopholes, but an otherwise gripping story more than makes up for them.

In all, Temper is all that the Puri and his team had promised it would be. It has all the commercial elements and some good work put in by Puri, NTR and Kajal. This is surely going to work well with the audiences. The timing will also work in film’s favour as there are no big releases lined up for a long, long time.

Highlights:

NTR has undergone a tremendous makeover for the film. Be it his 'fit' avatar or styling, everything is different about him in Temper.

Prakash Raj is at his usual best in the film; however, his role is relegated to the background in the film's climax.

Kajal has limited screen presence in the film and there's hardly any chemistry between the lead actors since their entire romantic track is underwritten.

Background by Mani Sharma is another big asset to the film.
